Tabac, Bold Street.
Tabac is a place where you can get everything: a cup of coffee, a cocktail, and a really good breakfast. At the top of Bold Street, and well worth the walk, the cosy bar is where I had my breakfast today.
Sitting tucked away in the side room, Jon and I both opted for a full English and a cup of coffee each to fuel us before a day of shopping. Dimly lit and also used to screen films, the tucked away room is a nice step back from busy Bold Street early on a Saturday afternoon.
A few years ago Tabac was one of my favourite places to start a night out, now it’s somewhere I enjoy going in the day time for some lunch or, most importantly, a full English. Two full English breakfasts and two cups of coffee cost £16.65 with Liverpool Independent discount. The Tabac full English consists of two sausages, two hash browns, bacon, beans, black pudding, eggs, tomato and a slice of toast.
Despite the couple on the table opposite us demonstrating some extreme PDA, Tabac’s breakfast with the perfect thing to start a Saturday with. I did swap my black pudding for Jon’s tomato and steal his second hash brown, but it was filling without making you feel stuffed. The service is fast and friendly, and the playlist was fab (Teenage Dirtbag is a great song, whatever time of the day). Tabac’s overall atmosphere makes it one of the best places on Bold Street to eat breakfast (before 4pm) and unwind.
